Gear Head Wireless Presenter
Published by Bogdan Alex, on April 30th, 2008, in the categories: Wireless Mouse
A mouse can sometimes take the form of a “presenter” and help you special reports that necessitate PowerPoint presentations or other related stuff during meetings. While I’ve already showed you some interesting presenters in the past couple of months, let’s take a look at what Gear Head has to offer.
Gear Head claims that their 2.4 GHz wireless presenter mouse combines 4 unique products in one sensational design. You practically get a wireless optical mouse, wireless presenter, integrated laser pointer, and remote scrolling trackball. OK, not exactly 4, but even a 2-in-1 design saves you some money.
This is a rechargeable device that comes bundled with a desktop receiver/recharger, a mobile USB receiver (dongle), a mobile charger cable and convenient travel pouch. The device comes in a black with silver accents flavor and integrates six buttons, being built to fit the contours of your hand, comfortably and efficiently.
Its effective range is around 30 feet away, so you can focus on your presentation and get personal with the auditorium at the same time, in order to deliver the message right. The package also includes 2 Ni-MH rechargeable batteries and a USB connector.
You can get one of these from Amazon for $44.24 .

Creative Fatal1ty 2020

I’m sure you’ve heard of Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel, the world’s top FPS gamer. Some renowned brand names even used his nickname on their best products in order to make them more iconic. Among these, Creative released a special X-Fi sound card and a laser mouse that bare the “Fatal1ty seal of quality.” Let’s see what Fatal1ty 2020 Mouse has to offer.
Besides being tested and approved by "Fatal1ty" himself, the 2020 mouse lets you customize your gaming experience on the fly with the ingenious G-Weight modular weight system. Each top loading, easy-to-access weight module or "caliber" is balanced to provide an optimized center of gravity.
It’s not the most accurate mouse around, but still, you get an HD-Laser engine which enables deadly accuracy in any game, especially in FPS ones. The RapidRes option coupled with the visual resolution scroll wheel takes full advantage of HD-Laser power, offering you instant switching between resolutions (400/800/1600/2000/2400 DPI).
In addition, this mouse comes with SpeedWire function, allowing for high performance gaming wired connections with gold plated USB plug and tangle-proof outer coating. It also incorporates genuine Teflon gaming mouse feet.
Last but not least, here’s what Fatal1ty had to say about the 2020 mouse:"I only put my name on the very best products. If you're a serious gamer, you just have to get one of these!"

Ideazon Reaper Edge

Maybe you weren’t too much impressed with the Reaper mouse. Clearly, that is some sort of entry-level gaming mouse and its price further confirms this statement. But Ideazon also offers a feature-packed mouse that could easily compete with the best laser mice around. Check out the Reaper Edge.
If you’re looking for precision, speed and accuracy, Reaper Edge won’t let you down. It sports a 3200 DPI laser sensor and it’s got a1ms response time thanks to the integrated full USB support. Couple this two features up and you got a mouse capable of 45 inch per second speeds, sustaining 20G acceleration.
Comfort is ensured by a sleek ergonomic design which comes in a snake skin flavor. The overall design reminds me of Logitech’s MX series with a thumb placement at the base. Additionally, you get upper and lower side thumb buttons, a rubberized anti-slip grip and a signature tire-traction rubber scroll wheel.
Taking a look at the customizable functions, we see the Reaper Edge integrating the usual goodies such as illuminated on-the-fly DPI switching which lets you choose between 800, 1200, 1600, 2000, 3200 DPI, 5 fully programmable buttons accompanied by a multi-profile management software and independent X- and Y-axis calibration.
For what it’s worth, the Reaper Edge has a great price. You can get it from Amazon for only $56.65.

Ideazon Reaper

I think we need a break from all those portable rodents. Accordingly, I went ahead and dug up an obscure brand name that offers gaming-grade mice, among other things. Here’s the Reaper Gaming Mouse from Ideazon.
I’ve never heard of this brand name up until now, but this mouse seems decent overall. It comes equipped with a 1600 DPI Optical Engin, so it can’t really compete with any Laser-based mice you’ve seen around. Idazon thought of a more striking appearance for this mouse and provided red LEDs with a sleek black on black finish.
The standard stuff includes the driverless On-The-Fly Sensitivity DPI Adjustment, so you can modify it instantaneously inside whatever game you are playing. It also comes with 6 reprogrammable buttons ( 3 side buttons) to enhance your gaming experience, especially the FPS games. The gold plated USB connecter isn’t something you see often with gaming-grade mice. This feature enables maximum conductivity to give you less latency and more frags, according to Ideazon. Hmmm, could a gold plated USB connector really compare to a Ultrapolling 1MHz engine?
Rounding up the features, the Reaper integrates genuine Teflon mouse feet which supply the smoothest possible slashes across surfaces to keep you on a killing spree. Amazon has this one for about $39.14.

Kensington SlimBlade

This time of the year seems to be dead for game-grade and desktop mice. CeBIT has passed and now I’m wandering around, trying to find some cool mouse. What’s this, a portable mouse from Kensington?
That’s the SlimBlade Trackball mouse specially designed for laptops. Thanks to its Bluetooth interface, you won’t be getting tangled in nasty wires anymore and you can also free up one USB connector. The SlimBlade integrates a 1000 DPI laser sensor, providing precise, responsive cursor action on almost any surface. You also get a 360 degree scrolling mode so you can now scroll your way up/down/left/right and in a circular motion for efficient page viewing. Hmm, I wonder if Genius came up with this idea first.
In addition, the 360 degree scroller can turn into a trackball when you don’t have enough surface space to move the actual wireless mouse. Plus, trackball mode provides added comfort since it requires less movement from your hands. In order to get into the desired mode, all you have to do is press the button at the top.
The supplied batteries can last for about 6 months and you can also find a battery life indicator on the mouse. The thin profile of the SlimBlade allows you to easily store and carry it around. Kensington provides support for both MACs and PCs.
The price looks to be the only downside for this mouse. On Amazon, the SlimBlade costs $82.
