Computer Mouses Styles

Published by adimoga, on May 14th, 2010, in the categories: Optical Mice

There are many choices to make and options to choose from when it comes to buying a computer mouse, as there are many computer mouse styles. The computer mice are very different from various points of view and you need to take in consideration each aspect prior to making the choice. One of the types of computer mice is the ergonomics one. The ergonomic computer mouse is very useful nowadays because in these times we use the computer more than ever.

A day in front of the computer can be very tiring and it can be very demanding to the body. When using the mouse for prolonged periods of time you can develop wrist problems. The ergonomic computer mouse can take care of this problem because it is built in such a manner in which there will be no pressure on your wrists, on your fingers, and so on. The ergonomic mouse is very beneficial from this point of view, even if it does not have certain extra features.

The next choice you need to take in consideration is related to the type of the mouse. There are tthree types of mice. The two most popular types are the ball and the optical mice, but lately a new type of computer mouse is getting more and more popular, and that is the trackball mouse. The ball mouse is getting more and more outdated and it is certain that in the near future they will no longer be manufactured.

The optical mouse has more benefits than the ball mouse, as they are able to provide superior performance and they are also more compact. The trackball mouse is a mouse which has a trackball on top of it. By navigating the computer you move the trackball in order to make the cursor move. This type of computer mice brings lots of benefits, the most important one being related to the space. As you won’t have to move the mouse in order to navigate, the mouse will require less space on the desk.

Another important aspect when it comes to the computer mouse is whether to buy a wired or a wireless mouse. The wired mouse requires no batteries and it is cheaper, whereas the wireless one requires a battery but it will take less space on the desk. The number of buttons on a mouse is very important as well. The standard mouse has two main buttons and the scroll wheel, but that seems to change nowadays. There are computer mice with 4 or 5 buttons and they are intended for people who use the computer excessively. Usually the extra buttons can be customized and in those cases the mouse will come with an included software programs. There you go, these are the main computer mouse styles.

Logitech Laser Mouse Problems

Published by MouseArena, on February 26th, 2010, in the categories: Optical Mice

Laser computer mice are relatively new in the computer industry, as they have been around on a larger scale starting with 2004, so not very long ago. They are considered of specialists as being the best computer mice so far, but you never know what the future will bring. Of course, just like with any other new technology, the laser mouse has brought its own problems with it, as nothing is perfect and can be improved. If we compare the laser mouse with the older optical mouse, we will clearly see the superiority of the latter. For starters the optical mouse used an optical sensor to detect its position by taking instant pictures of its coordinates and sending all the necessary information through an infrared or radio frequency device to the receiver that was connected to the USB or PS2 port of your computer. This time the laser beam, which is very thin and really accurate improves the mouse's resolution and accuracy, getting all the details from the surface it scans.

This is exactly one of Logitech's laser mouse problems. Due to the high resolution, the laser mouse will notice all the tiny details of the surface it is on and that is why it perception will be disturbed by such surfaces with irregularities like a rough wooden surface of a table, that will be difficult to screen. These rough surfaces, together with the ones that are polished and shiny are very difficult to be scanned by laser mouse, as this kind of surface is highly reflective.

Another of the Logitech laser mouse problems is the fact that you might have the wrong mouse drivers installed. this laser technology is pretty new and if you have an older computer it is possible not to recognize the laser mouse just because of that thing. That is why you should make sure you download the latest version of drivers from the producer's web site , so that you don't have any unpleasant experience with your newly acquired laser mouse. Usually these mouse drivers are easy to find once you enter the producer's web site and introduce the series and model of the mouse you want the drivers for.

One other problem with laser mice might be caused by the operating system installed on your computer, that does not recognize the mouse drivers. Make sure when you purchase the laser mouse in order to buy a mouse that is compatible with your operating system. For example there are certain computer mice that are compatible only with the latest versions of Windows and with Mac OS x, but it won't work with others.

Other problems are even simpler than that and are very easy to fix , but the answer won't cross your mind when you first encounter the problem. An example of such problem appears when you place something between the laser mouse and the USB receiver that is supposed to get the signals from it. No matter what you do , the cursor on the screen won't move unless you remove that object that obturates the signal reception and place it some other place. It's just like when you want to use the remote control to change the TV channels, but you can't do that if something blocks the tiny red LED that is the receiver of the remote control signals.

Of course there may be some other problems, too, but do not hesitate to contact the support email address or phone number on the web site when you have some difficulties with your laser mouse. Nice and modern and evolved as it is, still can meet some unexpected situations and get damaged

Rhinestone Computer Mouse

Published by MouseArena, on February 6th, 2010, in the categories: Design, Optical Mice

Are you tired of all the dull computer mouses that you can see in the windows of the computer stores? Do you want some colour and magic touch in your life and you just can't live without your computer mouse? Are you a fashion addict and always want to be trendy and in style?

If the answer is "yes" for all the three questions, then you should try to purchase one of these wonderful eye-catching rhinestone computer mouses. Take a look at the wonderful colours and the classy shape of the nice rhinestone computer mouses above! They are not ordinary computer mouses; they are designed by an artist called Erin Lareau who also numbers and signs each of them. The rhinestone cover is manually applied on the surface of the mouse. Not only this but each mouse is covered with 1200 individually hand-set gem cut crystals of different colours.

The result is spectacular and such a mouse on your desk will surely draw everybody's attention. They are actually named Iced mice and you can choose any of the colours presented in the picture, also with the possibility to clearly specify if you want your mouse to have a scroll wheel or not. Needless to say that they are all covered with the wonderful Swarowsky crystals that are so fashionable these days.

I don't know if they are comfortable, as I imagine the crystals are not flat and in any case they will be felt like little stones in the palm of your hand, but I sure know the price is a bit high for my taste - $150. Besides, you must make a pre-order and the manual application of the stones will take some time, so you must wait for a while before getting to brag with it in front of your friends.

The second picture shows another rhinestone computer mouse, this time covered "only" with normal crystals, also applied manually. You can see that immediately in the price that drops dramatically to $35. This is an optical mouse in case somebody asks and can be connected to an USB port to your computer. Only available in transparent crystals, but this does not diminish its sparkle and dazzling beauty.

I guess this rhinestone computer mouse is the perfect gift for a girl who has everything or the ideal gift for a bride. They are out of the ordinary and that is why their owner must be exactly the same. I also think this mouse is fit to be worn more like a jewel than to be used as a mouse, that is why I think is should be better to use it with your laptop or notebook computer rather than tying it top your desktop computer. Every once in a while we need something to make us feel great and to bring a little spark to our lives and this kind of computer mouse covered with crystals and all glittering surely is just what you need for that. So be an extraordinary woman for once and buy one for you.

Optical Mouse Pad

Published by MouseArena, on December 10th, 2009, in the categories: Mouse Pad, Optical Mice

Computer mouse pads are so common things, so ordinary that you hardly think about them, You just use them and this is it. From time to time you may get angry at your mouse pad because "It is ruined again" like it is the mouse pad's fault that you spilled your coffee on it or used it as a support for your hot tea cup and now it has wrinkles and bumpy and your computer mouse does not work properly on it. Yes, I know, it has an ingrate mission, of supporting the computer mouse and us at the same time. From time to time some people might get creative and purchase an interesting-looking mouse pad, like the one above, bought right before 4th July. Some other people predicted the complete extinction of the mouse pad in a few years time due to the laser computer mouse that does not need a mouse pad any more and works just fine on all kinds of surfaces. But nowadays the laser mouse is rather expensive and people look at it like it is a gadget from a James Bond movie. It will surely pass a few years until the laser mouse is adopted by everybody and become a common sight on our desks. but until then , like it or not, we need a mouse pad.

I am sure you all know the story of the computer mouse, followed really close by that of the mouse pad. The mouse pad appeared only a few years after the invention of the computer mouse and they been a couple ever since then. First it was used for protective reasons - to protect the desk from wearing to to the movements of the roller ball mouse. Then the optical mouse appeared and at first its functioning depended on the mouse pad: it just could not work without one. This is connected to the way in which the optical mouse works, as compared to the mechanical computer mouse. The basic difference is that the movement of the mouse is detected by the mechanical sensors in the first case and by optical sensors in the second one. Another big difference is the fact that optical mice do not have and do not need a roller ball.

When the optical mouse was first invented it worked only together with its specially designed mouse pad. The mouse pad was designed with an embedded grid of lines printed in infrared absorbing ink on a metallic surface. These dark lines had the role of stopping the infrared light beam transmitted by the LED in the optical mouse. So when the beam crossed over a line in the grid it was interrupted by the dark line and in that moment the computer mouse sent a message to the computer sending its coordinates. So if you lost your mouse pad, you might as well throw away your computer mouse, too, as they only worked together. But the years passes since the invention of the optical mouse somwhere in 1999 and the optical mouse improved: now it does not need a special mouse pad to work. in fact it does not need a mouse pad, except from the special surfaces that make its signal be reflected and jitter. I am talking about glass surfaces or really shiny surfaces like a polished desk for example. In these cases you really need a mouse pad.

However, optical computer mice seem to work better if they are placed on specially designed mouse pads, usually with small dots printed on them. There are also certain mouse pads that have a special texture for the optical computer mice, in order to eae their movement and incresase the fastness and precision of the mouse. This kind of mouse pad that helps the mouse glide smoothly from one side to another is preffered by the gamers, but also by the users who appreciate fast movement and high precision. The optical mouse pad should better be thin and made of a resistant plastic, allowing the free and fast movements of the mouse, but at the same time having a very adhesive back side in order not to slip from the desk and stay firm in one place, without moving. The micro -textured surface of the optical mouse pad helps your mouse move better and producers also say that it prolongs the life of the batteries in a wireless mouse.

You can find optical mouse pads in all the specialized stores and, even more convenient, order them directly on the internet. Iadvise you to look for special offers, as they somtemes offer incredible discounts. It is not an expensive item, so you can afford buying more than one at a time. You can even customize them as you feel like it or have one with the portrait of the loved person printed on: it is all up to you.

I even came across a funny web site that offered the users the possibility to dowload and print their own optical mouse padon any kind of material, even plain paper. They said the pattern is the one that is important for optical mice. Whatever.

The most useful thing about these mouse pads are, from my point of view, the fact that they are really thin and you can hardly feel them when you are using the mouse. This fact allow people like me just roll them and put tem in my bag, as I take my laptop everywhere with me and I got used to using such a mouse pad. It offers me comfort and speed and, besides, I avoid the unpleasant moments when I get angry because my mouse slipped from the table , again, and I have to interrupt my work to fix the problem. They can be placed inside your laptop (I do this, so I give you one of my tips) and use it as protection for the screen when you are travelling.

Any way I get attached to things, even if they are old and not useful any more, so I think I will miss my optical mouse pad when I will purchase a laser mouse or when the mouse pads will be extinct, like dinosaurs are. I am just joking, of course, But I really find them useful.
