Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse

Who has not been dreaming of having a computer mouse designed in such a way to be used in the air, without the need for a pad or desk?
This unique capability would be perfect for small spaces where we can’t place a pad or move the mouse on a material.

Logitech came out with the best solution for this issue, with the already famous MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse model, one of the company’s Honorees at Customer Electronics Show for excellence and engineering design innovation.
Using the advanced laser technology the Logitech Air mouse has precise tracking and instant response capability, while the scroll panel is created for ultra-fast scrolling either on a desk or in the air.
This is possible thanks to the unique Freespace motion sensing technology developed by Hillcrest Labs, which consists of a three-dimensional motion sensor capable of translating human natural motions into screen cursor movement.

It is not complicated to use the mouse. You just have to point and click as you do with any other model, but the technology and the implementation are indeed complex.
Freespace has applicability in PCs, television, and various digital devices such as game controllers, while its base characteristics include Orientation Compensation for the natural motion control via Micro–Electrical–Mechanical Systems sensors mixed with special designed algorithms for strong control from any position and regardless of the device’s orientation.

This new technology is so smart that it can make a difference between the intentional and unintentional human movements so that the device will always responds to those intentional only.
This is called Tremor Cancellation and is meant to reduce the tremor impact by up to 90% with no latency.

According to tests’ results, Freespace motion technology is producing 50% fewer pointing errors than mechanical gyroscope–based devices, improving the pointing speed with up to 20%.
Radio Frequency technology together with the sensors and complex algorithms keep the latency at very low levels between the user motion and cursor motion, this leading to high-efficiency in pointing and low fatigue.

So it’s very simple: you keep the mouse in your hand and wave it in the air to select what you need on the screen.
If you wave to the right or left you change the sound volume or you can skip tracks when you flip your wrist.

Other pluses are its 2.4GHz wireless capability within a range of 30 feet and a long life operating time thanks to a rechargeable Li-Ion battery.
It is enough to run Windows XP, Vista, Mac OS and have a USB port on your computer to ensure the compatibility with the mouse.

Logitech MX Air Rechargeable Cordless Air Mouse has a 3-year warranty and can be found at prices around $150.
