Logitech V550 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse

Logitech v550 nano cordless laser mouse is quite a long name, but it describes the main features of this computer mouse in a few words. It is tiny, that is smaller than regular computer mice, uses laser technology and is used and meant for notebooks. It is available in two different colours: gray and the traditional combination of Logitech -white and dark green. This is a very simple, yet very useful computer mouse, and I like simple things generally. I am always intimidated by those gaming mice that have a lot of buttons with a lot of functions that i can never remember, that I feel actually relieved tosee that it is possible to release a simple, yet very efficient and accurate computer mouse. Because usually notebooks and laptops are portable devices, the mouse that is attached to them must be highly portable, too. That is why it is recommended to be wireless, in order to avoid the mouse cord getting colied during transport. Well, the size of this Logitech v550nano cordless laser mouse allows it to be carried anywhere, in a small pocket of your purse or jacket. Another innovative feature, also useful for transportation is the Clip-and-go dock that helps you keep the mouse in a safe place, stuck to your computer, due to this tiny system. Just push the mouse in the dock until it clicks and then it is fixed there, ready for a safe travel.

As the name says it, Logitech v550 nano cordless laser mouse is a wireless mouse, so it will be delivered to you together with a very small and thin USB receiver that you can forget about after pressing in the USB port. It is designed to receive all the radio frequency signals sent by the mouse regarding its position. It uses a 2.4 GHz frequency and is very good at tracking , without any problems in this area. The receiver is really powerful and it never loses signal even if there are a lot of radio interferences around. Of course, the mouse is based on laser technology , that is why it is very precise and accurate, not to mention the speed of scrolling through internet pages and written documents, due to the laser sensor. You can choose the click by click option when you want to carefully read a document or to edit something, while the fast scrolling option allows you to skip entire pages with only one stroke of the scroll.
Besides the regular right click and left click buttons, together with the tilting scroll wheel between them, this mouse also has another special button just below the scroll wheel. It is the document flip button, which I, personally, find very useful. It allows you to flip through all the documents opened until you find the right one that you want to read or edit. There is no thumb button and some people might complain about it but I think this is not such a big loss if you are not a gamer.

The mouse works with two simple AA batteries but the interesting thing about it is the fact that in this case batteries seem to work a lot more than in the case of other computer mise, so this Logitech mouse is equipped with quite an interesting power saver technology and it "goes to sleep" every time you are not using it for some time. You can help it save some more energy by using the on/off button situated on the bottom, when you are not using it. In this way batteries last around six months. Speaking of batteries - they are introduced on to the bottom of the mouse and there is also a place next to them where you can carry the mouse receiver when you travel and are not using it. This avoids the unpleasant situation when you lose or misplace it and can't use your computer mouse only for this reason.
As always Logitech tried to get the best out of everything, including this little computer mouse. The minimal design and number of buttons and also the smooth design are very good features for its ergonomics, so it is really comfortable to use, even for a long time. Because it has no thumb support or something similar, it can be used by both left handed and right handed people . It is very simple, yet it has very useful features like the document flip button and the fast scroll feature. You can even adjust the speed of the scroll wheel according to your skills and desire. Everything about this mouse is so easy to use and so handy that you even wonder how was it possible that other people did not think about it first and use all these features in a nice interesting mouse, other than this one. The bottom line is that I liked it very much, and for the sum of $40 I would say it is quite a fair trade.
