Customer services are specially designed to help you with any issue you are experiencing regarding a product that you bought from their company. However, receiving guidance or assistance from a support center might take a while – and more than you afford to wait. Sometimes it is better for you to try solving the problem and let this option as a last resort. Mainly if we are talking about wireless mice, there are a few things to do for canceling the most common problems. Logitech wireless mice are known to sometimes act strange, but there are reasons for that and there are measures you can take.

When the cursor jumps around…
If the cursor of your wireless mouse suddenly starts jumping around, you do not necessarily have to start swearing Logitech for that cause. One of the first things to suspect would be the batteries. If the contact is not well set or your mouse simply has low batteries, it can act like that. But you should also verify whether is there any object to interfere between it and the receiver. This usually sends false signals on the receiver, making it think that you are doing that chaotic move.

It is not working anymore…
If the batteries are fine, the signal is clear, the Logitech mouse has been perfectly working until now but it just stopped or started to have a poor responding rate, chances are a virus has messed the driver. Or it has even deleted it. You can check that by accessing the Device manager: windows key plus Pause | Break key will get you into the System properties window. With the arrow keys, you should be able to select the Hardware tag and with Ctrl key plus the D key, you will finally enter into the Device manager. Again, with the arrows go down at the Mice & other pointing devices option. If your Logitech mouse is not listed in there, it means the computer does not see it at all. So use the special CD you received with the mouse to reinstall it. Nevertheless, if it is displayed but with an “!” or “?” marks aside, you have to make an update of the driver. Restart when finishing and this should solve your problem

The crazy mouse
Your mouse has definitely gone crazy when it starts all of a sudden to move all over the display, to highlight words, to right – click on everything. This would not be funny at all, but rather scary, so here is what you should try. First thing you need to do is to make it stop. How? By taking out its batteries, because they are the first reason for pushing a Logitech mouse to act strange. If you put them back and it continues to do like that, check the position and the contact of the receiver. Reboot your system. Finally, you will have to reinstall the drivers. And in the end, to buy yourself a new one, if nothing can repair this frustrating situation.

Other issues
We keep mentioning the batteries. The fact is that the mouse has a little LED inside of it that should turn into red every time you have a low battery. If you see that sign you just need to buy new batteries or put them on recharge, if they are rechargeable. And the wheel track can sometimes stop working. It is probably just dust that got in there blocking the mechanism or the sensors. You will have to take it apart in order to clean the dirt. It should work just fine after that.
