Mouse Pad Crafts

Published by MouseArena, on February 9th, 2010, in the categories: Mouse Pad

Mouse pads are usually bought from the store. They are really cheap and are made of special materials (rubber, foam, plastic, PVC) that can't be found in every store. Anyway there are some people who prefer to make things with their own hands in order to bring a personal touch to these things you use every day and bring a special colour on your desk.

These people use different specific material to obtain special mouse pads crafts. In fact, to be more exact, children are the ones credited with all the work, but they are always helped by their parents who offer and adult's view and guidance in order to get the wanted result.

Children don't have too much money to buy things, so the best presents they can do are made by themselves. Of course the parents who love their children appreciate these personal gifts a lot more than if they have received very expensive gifts bought from the shop. That is because you can buy many things, but never children's love who is offered for free.

There are no textbooks to teach you how to make mouse pad crafts; you only need to have the necessary materials and a lot of imagination. In fact imagiantion and skill are the most important ingredients in obtaining nice crafts. It's  a good idea for a parent to help the children make special gift's for the other parent's birthday. For example this baseball craft mouse pad can be the perfect gift for daddy's birthday or Father's Day or another one in the shape of a flower for Mother's Day. Just buy a piece of craft foam and some markers, cut the shape desired and let your kids enjoy the fun of drawing it as they like. Children's contour hands are always a hit and their clumsy drawings, too.

Look at this little and cute rodent smiling at us from the desk where it is the proud support of its computer brother. I think it would be more appropriate on a child's desk, that is why it would be a good idea to work together with your son or daughter to make both a surprise mouse pad for their computer mouse. All you need is a piece of gray craft foam and another one of purple foam (or you can choose different colours if you want to make it more diverse), purple, gray and black felt, ribbon, waxed paper, tacky glue and a non-slip liner that you can find almost in any department store that will be attached beneath the mouse pad in order to prevent its slipping all over the desk.

Cut a rectangle out of the gray craft foam and then round its corners. Put one edge of the rounded rectangle onto the purple foam and draw a line around it, turn it around and draw another line, so as to get the face of the mouse from it. Cut the new obtained shape and glue it onto the gray base. Glue a piece of yarn as the mouse's tail and then glue the non-slip line. The ears of the mouse are in fact two black round-felt circles glued inside two purple felt circles. Glue them both to the head and add two black felt eyes. Cover the mouse obtained with a sheet of waxed paper and let it dry completely. Then have fun!
