You’ve seen a similar gadget before, in the shape of the Mouse Skype Phone from Chinavasion, but Canon’s model replaces the phone functionality with 2 other, a numeric pad and a calculator with 10-digit LCD display.

It comes in white and black, measuring 186 x 65 x 65 when open at 116.8 grams, and being designed to save space on your office desk, delivering 3 devices in one.

Computer Mouse Cleaning

Well this should not be a problem if you purchase a Washable Mouse from Belkin. You can simply put it in the water and wash it with the hands or a piece of cloth. It won’t affect the mouse at all because it is water resistant.

Belkin Washable Mouse was launched in the summer of 2007 and was a real success because of the high-quality all Belkin products offer, and it also works perfect on all surfaces including wood, that’s because it is based on the optical sensor technology featuring 1200 dpi capability.

You can control it using the two buttons and the nice-designed scroll pad for vertical and horizontal scrolling with one finger touch.
It powers via USB.

With it computer mouse cleaning is not a problem anymore and you can forget about toothpicks with which many of us try to clean the dirt inside the mouse, and about the special cleaning substances that leave traces behind the cloth.

When the model was released on the market it came at a price of $30 with 3-year warranty, but now, after one year it is available at large stores such as Buy.com at just $19.45.

Fingerprint Access System

Fingerprint Access System

The fingerprint access system is already a popular protection method encountered even in laptops, cell phones and recently in computer mice. One of the few mouse models using this technology at the moment is this optical mouse with 2 buttons, scroll wheel and 800 dpi sensor, available at Chinavasion .

It gives access to the computer only to the right users and serves also as a decryption gate for encrypted files and drives, besides website logins. You can set it to remember up to 10 fingerprints of your family members or office colleagues, and keep your sensitive information protected. This is accomplished using a pattern-based algorithm which finds a central point in the fingerprint image aligned exactly as the stored template. It looks at arch, whorl, and loop patterns.

Fingerprint Access System

The USB Fingerprint Security Optical Mouse has a 508 dpi finger sensor with a field size of 192 x 16 pixels and 256 grey levels of 8 bits per pixel. It has a false rejection rate of 1 in 1,000 and a false acceptance rate of 1 in 1,000,000.

The fingerprint access system uses a 256 bit encryption algorithm for securing files or entire drives, while the mouse is compatible with Windows operating system up to Vista, using a USB 5 VDC power source.
You can setup the fingerprint access system via the special user-friendly software that comes with the mouse.

Fingerprint Access System

It measures 105 x 33 x 47 mm and is available at a price of $37.50.

Targus Wireless

Thursday
May 29,2008

Maybe you can’t stand wireless mice because they are a bit less responsive than the wired ones, but if you need a clean and organized office desk you might want to try what Targus has to offer in the wireless range.

Take for example the Wireless Stow-N-Go Rechargeable Mouse, which is said to be the only 27MHz mouse in the Stow-N-Go Mouse product line from Targus. This wireless mouse integrates a 800-dpi high-tracking resolution laser sensor which provides extremely precise cursor movements (as I said, good for the office stuff only). The design of this new mouse is highly portable and includes a small, thumb-size USB receiver that doubles as an on/off switch when stored. Moreover, the receiver tucks on the underside of the mouse for easy travel. Although it seems too round to provide a comfortable use, Targus ensures us that it’s specifically designed for laptop users and people on the go.

The Wireless Stow-N-Go charges via the USB port even when you’re using it, so no more dead batteries to give you headaches. What makes it simpler to use than most of the wireless mice out there is the fact that it requires no drivers or software.

You can find this one online for $49.99.

NGC V8 Bullet

Wednesday
May 28,2008

Time to leave gaming and ultra-portable mice alone for a bit and concentrate on the latest vehicular rodents. Ever wanted a fast American muscle car, but couldn’t afford it? Now you can try one of NGC’s latest Shelby-like mice that’s guaranteed to give you adrenaline rushes every time you use it.

The Novelty Gift Company prepared the V8 Bullet with an authentic retro shape based on Ford Shelby’s design. It comes complete with front and rear blue LED lights and you can use the provided decals to further customize the looks.

On the functional side, the car-mouse is ergonomically designed to fit your palm and comes with a decent 800 DPI optical sensor that is suited for browsing and office stuff. The mouse has 5 buttons and a scroll wheel and is available in wired or wireless versions. The wireless model includes rechargeable batteries charged via a petrol nozzle styled USB cable and the wireless transmitter has been cleverly hidden in the form of a starter key. Unfortunately this is just an RF transmitter that allows only for a 1,5 m range.

In case you don’t like the Cherry Red color, NGC also have this model available in Diamond Black and Racing Green.

More info and pricing details on the NGC official website.
