USB Computer Mouse Extension Cord

I know I always complain one thing to anybody is willing to listen to me: my house and especially my desk has way too many wires and cords and cables. It is like an enormous ball of wire or like Medusa's head. Except for all the cables that connect the computer to the monitor, to the plug, there are the six speakers, one VCR one TV out connection, one HP printer, a cable that I use for my photo camera and a telephone cable. So you can imagine what a chaos that is. My only hope is that one day I will have the opportunity to have only wireless devices in my house. But I am a technology addict and I just can't give up any of these things on my desk. However, besides this cable problem, I recently discovered another one. My husband is in charge with buying all the electronic stuff in my house, so he chose a computer with the USB port situated in front of the main unit. Well, it seems handy and all. But my problem is that the mouse is supposed to be connected to this exact port. But the cord that links my mouse to the USB port is too short and when I want to perform wider movements of the computer mouse, I feel resistance and the cord extending to the maximum. That is why I bought a USB computer mouse extension cord, pretty long that allows me to move the mouse now all over the desk and besides it is not expensive either. I heard some roumors that the use of such an extension cord might affect the quality of the signal sent by the mouse to the central unit of the computer and that it might cause a slower response to the movements of the mouse. Fortunately, I did not see such deal, but again I am not an addict gamer or samething like that and I use the computer for harmless use only.

I think that nowadays the USB - that is universal serial bus- is a very handy and important means for plugging different peripherals to a computer and not only. It is now used in such devices as PDAs and smartphones. This USB port has replaced many varieties of serial ports and parallel ports. This USB port allows you to connect all computer peripherals there, either directly or using an extension cord, not only the mouse. Some computers have more than one USB port in order to allow more than one device or peripheral to be connected. Except for these computer peripherals, USB is perfect for bringing data on external memory drives or media players. It is used more frequently now and makes the use of serial or parallel ports almost obsolete.

Like I said before the usb extension cord can be used to connect any kind of computer peripheral to your USB port, not only the computer mouse. You can use it for example for your printer if it is a bit farther than the computer because there is no room on your desk for it, or for your keyboard or speaker or any of them. Usually this extension cord has standard dimensions and can have up to 5 meters length. The USB connectors are type male and female and one end plugs directly in the USB port, while the other end plugs into your device. So the basic request for using this kind of cord for your computer mouse is that your computer mouse has also a similar port to plug in. I know that new models have one for certain, but there are older models that don't, so be careful not to buy such a cord for nothing. Make sure that the end that gets into the computer USB port is not damaged, because a little bending for example can cause its fall from the port or an inappropriate connection, thus leading to the malfunction of your mouse.

As you can see in the pictures below, you can find this USB computer mouse extension cord in many colours, so choose one according to your mood or color of desktop. This cord can be used with any computer device and any operating system and it does not need any additional software or other precautions. It is very useful and works great , even if the mouse signal has to travel a long distance. The material inside the cord is usually metallic in order to allow the data flow and signals to be sent and received. However, it is covered with a thick layer of plastic material, that confers it both resistance and safety.

It is quite light, considering the length: only 240g (for a cord that is 5 meters long). Of course there are different models even for these simple extension cords and different lengths, so the weight may vary as well. The point is this cord is not so heavy as to drag your computer mouse off the desk, but it allows it to move freely and in a natural way.

Of course the best solution for solving any problems of this kind (computer mouse too far away from main unit) can be easily solved if you purchase wireless devices, but they are pretty expensive so not a cheap bargain for everyone. The solution provided by the USB computer mouse extension cord is simple and affordable and helps you become effective in your work. From my point of view it is a simple solution or a simple problem.

I am not a great fan of cables and stuff like that but I admit that sometimes they seem to be the perfect solution for a simple problem. But it does not matter how simple and small your problem is, you can't do your job properly unless you fix it. So this extension cord is very helpful when you need it and a reasonable solution to solving the problem with space. And the best thing about it is the fact that it is universal, too, and you can use it for different purposes and devices, according to circumstances. It is the right thing in the right place.
