Statistics say that almost one million people access the internet for the first time every single day. Can you imagine that at a global scale? There are a lot, I mean a lot of people using the internet and the computers every day. And I am not talking about using it accidentally or from time to time , but on a regular basis and for many hours a day.

Especially people who live in big cities, working in offices, having their jobs computer related or kids that are addicted to games. Well, some people know when to stop, but some don't and they use the computer and computer mouse too much and that is the main cause for getting RSI, that is repetitive strain injuries. There are also other conditions related to computer mouse use like tendonitis , carpal tunnel syndrome or De Quervain's disease.

Well, ergonomic computer mice were invented as a reaction to these conditions of the hand. Actually ergonomic means natural, that is ergonomic devices offer the human body a natural position that won't affect the health. On the contrary, ergonomic computer mice were designed so as to avoid RSI, but also to help the ones already suffering from such illnesses or from other one that cause pain when using the hands. The main purpose is to ensure comfort and avoid pain.

There are a lot of ergonomic computer mice on the market now, wireless or not, advertised to be the best. But I will only present two of them now: the HandShoe Mouse , an ergonomic wireless mouse preferred by lots of people.

The Hippus Handshoemouse is an amazing innovation in the field of ergonomic devices for computer use. It is a laser wireless computer mouse (there is also a wired version) that offer an incredible comfort for the hand during mousing, allowing the hand to be used with minimum effort and movement. It offers a sort of "plastic shoe" that supports the whole palm of your hand, not only the fingers.

The hand rests in a neutral position and the buttons are operated easily with the base of the fingers, without having to stretch your fingers for that. The shape is designed in a special way for the left and right hand. the thumb is positioned a bit higher in order to be comfortable and the scroll is easy to operate. The mouse is very light , in spite of its size and it is presented in different sizes according to the size of your hand. It is available for about $160 or 120 euro.

The laser sensor allows this mouse to operate on virtually any kind of surface. Even if this mouse is one of the biggest one I have seen, it is also the most comfortable and surprisingly light. This mouse does not require additional software, but it is a plug and play device and works as soon as you connect the receiver to the USB port of your computer. In conclusion this is only an example of ergonomic computer mouse and I don't think I have the authority to claim that this one or another is the best ergonomic mouse. It is just a presentation and you are free to try any such device and decide which one is the best for you.
