Computers are important for all of us as we all need to use them in many situations in which they can be very useful for us to work with. We all want to be able to benefit as much as possible from using them and in order to make this possible it is important for us to be learn how to work properly with such devices. They can be very useful for us to use but we just have to learn how to improve their functions and how to work with them so that we might benefit more from using them in all sorts of activities in which we might involve their use. And in order to learn about our computers and their functions it is important for us to carefully analyze each of its components and to become familiar with all sorts of changes and improvements being made to them so that we might make use of them as well in order to improve the functions of our own computers.

The mouse is an important computer hardware component. We all use it while working with our computer and in this ways it is important for us to be aware of as many aspects related to it as possible for a better understanding of the way in which it functions and of the way in which it can prove to be useful for us to use. There are numerous aspects related to the hardware components included in our computer or connected to it that we can easily find nowadays and become aware of. In this respect, many computer users might also be interested in finding out about who invented the first computer mouse and certainly some aspects related to how the first computer mouse functioned.

The answer for the question of who invented the first computer mouse is Douglas Engelbart. He created the first mouse prototype in 1963. He was assisted in his invention by Bill English, a colleague of his at the Stanford Research Institute. Bill English invented later on, in 1972, the ball type of mouse which was included within the hardware part of the Xerox Alto PC available at that time.

When discussing about who invented the first computer mouse it is also important to consider some aspects related to the way in which this first mouse looked like and to the ways in which it functioned. In this respect, it can be mentioned the fact that it was perceived as a bulky type of device and that it functioned by using two gear-wheels positioned perpendicularly to one another. The way in which the mouse could enable movement was by moving each of these two wheels who were placed on an axis.

There are numerous interesting aspects which we can learn about all sorts of computer hardware components nowadays and the answer for the question of who invented the first computer mouse might also be interesting to be made aware to many of those who are not already familiar to it. In time, the mouse that has been firstly invented has been changed in many ways as various technologies have appeared and in this way, nowadays we all use different types and models of such devices according to our choice.
